Jesus saves on roof repainted red
An evangelist who painted Jesus Saves in huge white letters on the roof of his farmhouse has repainted them red in an effort to get round a local council ban.
Giessenlanden local authority had told Joop van Ooijen the white letters were too bright and formed too great a contrast with the surrounding landscape. The council fined him €15,000 in mid June for refusing to remove the text.
A council spokesman told the Telegraaf the authority was considering what to do about the new situation.
