Dutch rider takes world dressage title

Edward Gal and his horse Moorlands Totilas won the dressage Grand Prix Special on Wednesday at the world championships in Kentucky, giving him his first individual world title.

On Tuesday Gal’s ‘nearly flawless’ performance on the same horse gave the Netherlands the gold medal for the team event.
Gal is only the second Dutch rider to achieve individual gold, following Anky van Grunsven in 1994 on Bonfire and 2006 on Salinero.
