Airline Martinair will stop making passenger flights from November next year after over 50 years of service, parent company KLM has confirmed.

KLM will take over Martinair’s passenger routes but some unprofitable routes will be scrapped. Martinair Cargo will continue to operate freight services under its own name.
Some of Martinair’s 400 cabin crew will lose their jobs in the shake-up but the company said it would do its best to find alternative employment for everyone.
The KLM group is made up of KLM, KLM Cityhopper, Transavia and Martinair. KLM itself is part of Air France.
