More money to tackle aggression

The home affairs ministry announced on Tuesday an additional subsidy of €1.3 mln to continue the fight against aggression towards public sector workers.

The money will be divided between 45 organisations to finance new initiatives to safeguard employees such as tram and train conductors, medical staff, police and teachers.
Since 2008 a total of €4 mln has been spent on safeguarding public sector workers and in the intervening period, acts of aggression have fallen by 15%, reports the Volkskrant.
