Ministers still discussing Iraq reaction

Ministers have not yet finalised their formal reaction to the highly critical report on the Netherlands’ strategy in the run up to the Iraq war, deputy prime minister André Rouvoet told reporters on Thursday evening.

Rouvoet was responding to the publication of a draft cabinet response to the Davids commission report, obtained by tv current affairs show Reporter.
‘Something this important takes time,’ Rouvoet told Nos tv.
In the draft response, ministers appear to admit parliament was not properly informed about events and that security service information could have been better – two of the main criticisms.
The Davids commission also said there were insufficient legal grounds to justify the invasion.
