Police in Tiel have been fined €500 by the local fire brigade for continually burning their toasted sandwiches, says local tv station Omroep Gelderland.

Fire engines have been sent to the police station so many times that officials decided to fine the force. The problem was caused partly by a technical fault and partly because police officers forget to unplug the sandwich maker when called out, the broadcaster said.
