Hans van Mierlo, founder of the Liberal democratic party D66 and writer Connie Palmen have married in secret in Amsterdam, the Telegraaf reports on Thursday.

Van Mierlo (78) and Palmen (53) chose to marry on 11/11 because they have been together for 11 years and 11 months, the paper said.
Palmen is Van Mierlo’s third wife. Palmen had a long relationship with writer Ischa Meijer, who died in 1995.
