Of the 7.4 million registered cars in the Netherlands, two million are grey, 1.6 million are blue and 1.3 million are black, says the national statistics office CBS.

The number of grey and black cars has increased sharply since the turn of the century at the expense of red, green and white cars, the CBS says.
Cars which are 25 years old or more are most likely to be red, green or blue.
