Groningen dims its lights
The province of Groningen is to dim all its 15,000 street lights by 2010, reports Wednesday’s Telegraaf.
The lights will be turned down between 11 pm and 6 am, saving the equivalent of the annual energy use of 300 households, the provincial council estimates.
A test is already being carried out and inspection of the area covered has shown no adverse effects on public safety, says the Telegraaf.
