Van Gogh portraits authenticity confirmed
Amsterdam’s Van Gogh Museum has confirmed the authenticity of two portraits by the 19th century Dutch painter, reports news agency AP.
There was doubt about whether the two pictures in question were painted by Vincent van Gogh because they were so different from his other work.
One portrait is the face and torso of a woman in a hat, the second shows a lady sitting with her hands folded in her lap.
Paint analysis and other evidence have proved that the two portraits are the work of Van Gogh who probably painted made them in the spring of 1886, museum spokeswoman Natalie Bos, told AP.
