Thirty-two out of every 1,000 people in the southern province of Limburg receive unemployment benefits. This ratio is well above the national average of 21, said the national statistics office CBS on Wednesday.

The provinces of Noord Holland, Zuid Holland and Utrecht have the lowest number of benefit claimants, at 18 per 1,000 residents.
