Credit crisis boosts Labour’s fortunes

The Labour party (PvdA) has gained five extra seats in the latest poll from research agency Synovate, says Friday’s Telegraaf.

But the rise to 27 seats over the past two weeks is still six fewer than the 33 seats the coalition party won at the last election.
It is six months since the Labour party had such a strong position and the pollsters credit this to finance minister Wouter Bos’ handling of the credit crisis, says the paper.
Bos’ personal rating has also improved, from an ‘unacceptable’ in September to a 6.2 now. This puts him ahead of Christian Democrat prime minister Jan Peter Balkenende who remains at 5.4.
