Rabobank spends more money on sponsorship than any other Dutch company, according to research by Sponsor Magazine. .
In total, the cooperative bank puts some €20m into cycling, hockey and equestrian events, the magazine said. Local Rabobank branches spend another €20m on regional events.
Heineken is second on the list with total sponsorship of €22.5m, followed by Aegon, Unilever and ABN Amro.
The magazine says the country’s 25 most important sponsors spend some €250m in total a year, around 30% of the total sponsorship spending of €925m.
