Google launches and withdraws Dutch phone service

Google launched its internet based telephone service in the Netherlands on Wednesday night but withdrew it a few hours later because the launch had been a mistake, the Telegraaf reports on Thursday.

‘We were a little premature,’ a spokesman told the paper. The early launch was a technical error and also affected other countries, the paper said.
The spokesman could not say when the service will be launched in the Netherlands. It is currently only available in the US and Canada.
