A 33-year-old Dutch national being sought by German police in connection with attacks on banks has been arrested in Morocco.

Interpol issued an arrest warrant for the man, who is suspected of being involved in two armed robberies in the German towns of Kist and Gartringen that netted a haul of €186,000.

He was detained at Tanger airport on Tuesday after Moroccan and European security agencies worked together to track him down, Morocco’s national police said.

He is expected to be extradited to Germany to stand trial for his alleged crimes. Authorities believe he is part of a criminal network implicated in several armed robberies and explosive attacks on banks across the country.
