Owner My Brand arrested on suspicion of money laundering and drugs

The owner of fashion clothing line My Brand has been arrested on suspicion of money laundering and dealing in forbidden substances, reports the NOS.

Following a search of his home in Purmerend, in connection with a drugs investigation, police discovered and confiscated €228,000 in cash, according to the public prosecutor OM. They also discovered a gun and luxury goods including a classic car and watches, which were also confiscated.

The man, who was abroad during the search, gave himself up at a police station in Amsterdam on Wednesday July 6, was arrested, and is being held for a two-week period while the investigation continues.

Dutch media named the 44-year-old suspect as Domenico G, owner of the My Brand – a brand promoted by footballer Luis Suárez and former footballer Glenn Helder.
