The police have released images of five men they believe were involved with an armed robbery last week on Tuesday at the Tetaf fine arts fair in Maastricht.

Although police have not revealed precisely what was stolen, reports have suggested a necklace containing a very large yellow diamond was part of the haul.

In footage of the robbery released at the time, four men in jackets, caps and glasses appeared to have been actively involved. One tried smashed a glass display case with a sledgehammer, and another two waved weapons at bystanders.

Although a 22 year old and 26 year old from Belgium were arrested after the robbery, they are no longer thought to be involved.

Scooters

The new images, broadcast on RTL television show Opsporing NL, show the two-minute robbery, and the men using two electric scooters for their getaway shortly afterwards. One man is thought to have been wearing a wig, and others are thought to have worn fake glasses.

Police are also looking for a fifth man, who is believed to have bought the entry tickets the day before the robbery.

Anyone with information is asked to call the police on 0800-6070 or 0800-7000, for an anonymous tip.
