Transport company workers in Roosendaal, in Noord Brabant, have found 750 kilos of cocaine hidden between other goods on an industrial estate, police said on Saturday.

The haul was originally thought to total some 400 kilos but that has now been revised upwards after further investigation. The drugs are said to have a street value of €30m.

As yet, no-one has said how the drugs came to be hidden and the name of the company where they were found is being kept confidential.

Meanwhile, customs inspectors in Rotterdam port have found 839 kilos of cocaine in a container from Brazil, which had been smuggled into the Netherlands alongside two Volkswagen vans.

The public prosecution department said it did not think there was a connection between the vehicles and the drugs.

Officials also found a further 230 kilos in a container transporting beer.
