Police in Zeeland have arrested five men from Mexico and the Dominican Republic following a raid on a drugs lab in the village of Westdorpe.

Police were alerted to the lab, used to make crystal meth, following a tip-off and raided the storage depot at around midnight on Monday evening.

More people from South and Latin America have been caught working in Dutch drugs labs in recent months.

‘The Netherlands is the ideal environment for the international drugs trade’

In August 13 Colombian nationals were among 17 men arrested in a raid on the biggest cocaine lab ever found in the Netherlands. And in May, police have arrested three men from Mexico, Colombia and the US in a raid on a drugs lab in the Gelderland village of Achterdrempt.
