Dutch dj Hardwell is stopping all public performances for the time being, with the exception of his Ziggo Dome show as part of the Amsterdam Dance Event in October.

Hardwell, several times voted best dj in the world, wrote on Facebook that ‘being Hardwell 24/7 leaves too little energy, love, creativity and attention’ for sharing his life with friends and family.

‘This is why I have decided to clear my schedule indefinitely, to be completely liberated from targets, interviews, deadlines, release dates etc…. I need some time off to be me, the person behind the artist and to reflect on everything that has happened in last last few years.’

Hardwell, real name Robbert van de Corput, has several times been voted best dj in the world. Now aged 30, he first came to prominence in 2008/9. Both he and his parents are active in a foundation that helps young djs deal with contracts, managers and record labels.
