Add as a favourite source on Google Add DutchNews as a favourite source on GoogleA pilates studio in Gelderland has been hit by three explosive attacks in six weeks, the most recent in the early hours of Monday, police have said.
The studio in Zevenaar, which opened a year ago, was first targeted on June 24, when a blast blew a window pane out of the front door and caused a fire to break out.
A witness saw a man in black clothing and a cap running from the scene immediately after the explosion, but police have not managed to trace him.
Five days later a second explosion blew a hole in the entrance. The word betalen (“pay”) was written three times on a window.
The most recent attack was at around 2.45am on Monday, when another explosion went off and a brick was hurled through a window, Omroep Gelderland reported. The explosion was heard throughout the neighbourhood.
The door and several windows of the building have been boarded up following the attacks. Police would not say if they were linked or if any arrests have been made.
