Last-ditch attempt to solve mystery of Dutch women in Panama deaths

missing girls panamaThe Panamanian authorities are to make a last-ditch attempt to find the remains of two Dutch women who disappeared during a jungle walk eight months ago.

Lisanne Froon and Kris Kremers, aged 22 and 21, vanished in April after going for a walk in jungle near Boquete. While several bones, a mobile phone and a rucksack belonging to them has been found, no one has yet reached a firm conclusion about what happened to them.

Researchers will make a final trip to the jungle between January 12 and 16. The team includes a forensic anthropologist, a DNA specialist, a criminologist and four dogs, local broadcaster RTV Utrecht says.

‘It is right to go over all the evidence one final time to gather as much evidence as possible,’ a spokesman for the women’s families told the broadcaster.
