Add as a favourite source on Google Add DutchNews as a favourite source on GoogleTwo people have been arrested after protesters sprayed “Boycot Gaza” slogans on the windows of the Dutch parliament building and interrupted the weekly ministers’ question time session.
Demonstrators twice shouted slogans from the public gallery while Geert Wilders, leader of the far-right PVV party and a staunch supporter of Israel, was speaking in parliament on Tuesday.
Access to the building was closed to visitors, but people inside were allowed to leave while some MPs slipped out via the bike parking garage.
The protest group XR Justice Now later posted a messaged on its Instagram page saying it wanted to highlight what it called Dutch “complicity” in Gaza.

One of the demonstrators shouted “blood on your hands” and “Free Palestine” as they were being led away during Wilders’ speech.
Parliamentary chairman Thom van Campen suspended the sitting after the second interruption and ordered the gallery to be cleared before the debate resumed.
