Residents of 30 apartments were told to leave their homes after firefighters were called out to the complex on Wagenstraat at around 2am, where a third-floor flat was ablaze.
Two people were taken to hospital as a precaution after inhaling smoke, local newspaper De Stentor reported. Five others were checked over by paramedics at the scene.
Firefighters used a cherry-picker to reach people who were unable to leave their apartments via the fire escape.
Police believe the fire may have been started deliberately. Enquiries are ongoing.
