There may be some sunny spells in between the cloud and rain and the maximum temperature will be no higher than 18°. Showers will continue into the evening and there could be more thunder overnight.
The sun will put in an appearance on Friday morning, particularly in the west, and winds will remain strong in coastal areas, the KNMI said. By the afternoon, the west will be sunny and dry but there may still be the odd shower in southern parts of the country.
The weekend will be mainly dry with some sunny spells and temperatures reaching around 20°, with a similar picture heading into next week.
