The former One Direction singer, who kicked off his tour Together Together in the Netherlands last weekend, remained largely invisible to part of the public because of the unusually high stage and layout of the walkways.
Several fans who had paid for special floor tickets costing up to €350 took to social media to air their grievances about their views of the singer. Now his team has said they are taking action to improve the situation.
“We’ve heard concerns from some fans regarding sightline obstructions on the floor,” Instagram page Harry Styles HQ wrote Wednesday.
“We want every person in the room to have the best experience possible, and we are actively working on making adjustments to improve visibility, while keeping everyone’s safety a priority.”
Styles announced his new album and a world tour in January after a three-year break from music. Amsterdam and London are the only European stops, with the British singer performing 10 consecutive nights at the Johan Cruijff Arena between May 16 and June 5, setting a record for a solo artist at the venue.
The tour uses the “residency” model, popularised in Las Vegas, in which an artist performs multiple nights at a single location rather than travelling from city to city. While this reduces costs and logistics for the artist, it means fans often have to book travel and accommodation to attend, pushing up the overall cost.
Before the series kicked off, it emerged that thousands of tickets for the Amsterdam concerts were unsold.
