Police catch jewel thieves red-handed during ram-raid
Three jewel thieves are in custody after police intercepted them while they were carrying out a ram raid in Arnhem.
The men wedged a metal dumpster against the shop, ’t Gouden Paleis on Hommelstraat, before using a van to break the security roller blinds at 3.30am on Wednesday.
Police arrived while they were still emptying the premises and arrested the trio. A getaway scooter parked outside the shop was also taken away.
The jewellery store remains closed while police carry out inquiries at the scene.
