Fewer Brits are moving to NL, and fewer are going home as well

Fewer British nationals have been coming to live in the Netherlands since Britain formally left the European Union in 2020.
Up until 2019, immigration among British nationals was on the rise, national statistics agency CBS said on Monday.
In 2024, 3,000 British nationals moved to the Netherlands, less than half the pre-Brexit total of 6,500 in 2019. The number of British nationals returning to the UK from the Netherlands has also declined since 2020, falling to 2,200 last year compared with almost 3,200 in 2019.
Dutch nationals are also turning their backs on Britain. In 2015, over 4,000 moved to Britain, but by last year their number had fallen to just over 1,200 — the lowest figure in 30 years.
In 2024, nearly 100,000 more EU citizens left the UK than moved there, but in 2015 net migration to the UK from the EU was nearly 290,000.
