11-year-old questioned in fatbike theft fatal shooting probe

An 11-year-old boy has been questioned by police in connection with last month’s fatbike theft in Capelle aan den IJssel, which led police to shoot dead a 15-year-old youth.
The youngster is said to have taken part in the robbery with three 15-year-olds from Rotterdam and Gouda, including the boy who died. One of the others remains in police custody and the third was released.
The 11-year-old has been questioned but cannot be held in custody because of his age. Police have not said where the youngster lives.
During the robbery the gang used a converted alarm pistol to threaten their victim. He was also physically attacked.
Police later shot one of the suspects, named as Jerryson, outside a branch of McDonald’s in Capelle aan den IJssel. The shooting is still under investigation.
