The Netherlands is in for a sizzling spell, with temperatures reaching 34° later in the week, weather bureau Weeronline said on Friday.

Friday will be pleasant, with cloud and an occasional shower but mostly dry, and temperatures between 23° on the coast and 26° inland.

Saturday will be dry and sunny, with little wind and with temperatures on the coast reaching between 22° and 24°. Southern provinces Brabant and Limburg will be clocking up the highest temperatures of between 25° and 28°, Weeronline said.

Sunday will be warm as well, with temperatures in the low twenties as early as midday on the Wadden islands and in the south. Coastal areas will see temperatures of up to 25°, while inland it will be 27° in places.

Not much will change on Monday, but on Tuesday, the temperature will go up to 26° to 28° on the coast, while the rest of the country will see tropical temperatures of 30° to 33° and 34° locally in Limburg.

The rest of the week will continue sunny and warm with temperatures again topping 30° in most places. Thunderstorms may bring cool things down a bit, as at the end of the week temperatures fall to between 24° and 27°.

According to the KNMI, there is a 30% chance of thunderstorms on a daily basis, heading towards the end of the month.
