Man jailed for online abuse of at least 33 young girls

A 34-year-old man from Zwolle has been jailed for six years for sexually abusing at least 33 girls online.

Daan F approached the girls, all of whom were minors, via Snapchat and TikTok and asked them to send sexually-tinged photos of themselves to him. The girls were aged between eight and 14 and F would pose as a 13 or 14-year-old boy.

Eventually he asked the girls to pose naked for him and gave them instructions what do to, taking screen shots of them as they were online.

“You might think your daughter is safe in her bedroom, but a man has forced his way into your home and hurt her from a distance,” the court said. The public prosecution department said it expects the real number of victims to be around 100, a suspicion that F did not deny.

The investigation into F began in 2022 after the father of one of the victims discovered his daughter had sent nude photographs to him and went to the police.
