Princess Alexia heads for London and a science degree
Princess Alexia, king Willem-Alexander and queen Máxima’s second daughter, is to study “science & engineering for social change” at University College London from the coming academic year.
Earlier it had been reported that the princess was heading for Groningen after completing a gap year. She had attended Atlantic College in Wales for her final two years of secondary school.
According to the university website, students will “gain multi-disciplinary knowledge that is sought-after in business, charity, government and policy roles.” The three-year degree is a BSc and awarded by the faculty of engineering.
Alexia told reporters in June that she was struggling to decide what degree to take and that she had written herself in for several courses.
The king’s oldest daughter Amalia is studying for a combined degree in politics, psychology, law and economics at the University of Amsterdam and spent much of last year in Spain after threats were made against her.
