Electoral council finalises vote, D66 has nine MPs, not 10

The electoral council has confirmed the final results of the general election and D66 has not won another seat as suggested earlier.

The confirmed figures give the PVV 37 seats, followed by the GroenLinks/PvdA alliance on 25, the VVD on 24 and NSC on 20. D66 remains in fifth place with nine seats, failing to take one from SP by just 160 votes.

In total, 15 parties have won a seat in parliament, but seven of them have three or fewer MPs.

Just one potential MP has won a seat on preference votes. Daniëlle Hirsch from the left-wing green alliance will replace Luc Stultiens who was 25th on the party’s list.

However, given that sitting GroenLinks MP Kauthar Bouchallikht already said she would not take her seat because of divisions over the party’s policy on Palestine, Stultiens will probably keep his place.

Parliament will meet for the last time it its current line-up on December 5 and the new MPs will be sworn in on December 6.

The confirmed line up
PVV: 37 (17)
GL/PvdA: 25 (17)
VVD: 24 (34)
NSC: 20 (0)
D66: 9 (24)
BBB: 7 (1)
CDA: 5 (15)
SP: 5 (9)
PvdD: 3 (6)
ChristenUnie: 3 (5)
SGP: 3 (3)
FvD: 3 (8)
Denk: 3 (3)
Volt: 2 (3)
JA21: 1 (3)
