Dutch police have issued a new photograph of an English or German-speaking man who they say was abducted on Friday afternoon at around 2.20 pm in the Noord Holland village of Spanbroek.

So far police have failed to identify or find the man, but have arrested two men in Heerhugowaard in connection with his disappearance. Their role in the abduction is still being investigated.

Police say they are very concerned for the man’s safety.

On Friday police issued a photograph showing the man being held round the middle by another man in a baseball cap. He was then forced into a car with what eyewitnesses told local broadcaster NH Nieuws was “great force”. The car then took off at high speed.

The new photograph was taken on a bus and the man had been spotted earlier wearing socks but no shoes, by a bus stop on the Herenweg in Spanbroek around 1.30 pm.

Anyone who recognises the man is being urged to contact them via 0900-8844 or the emergency number 112.
