Police raided dozens of locations in Brabant and the east of the country on Friday morning following an investigation into a new encrypted phone service, the Parool and AD reported on Friday afternoon.

The raids took place at a recycling company, motorbike traders and a trailer park among other locations, the papers said. Police have yet not commented on the raids or on any possible connection between them but are holding a press conference on Monday.

The papers say the investigation centres on Exclu Messenger, which is used by criminals to community safely with each other.

As yet it is unclear how many people, if anyone, was arrested.
