The Grand Beach brings a Caribbean vibe to central Amsterdam
It’s summer, so the time is right to get into that sunny vibe, settle back in your easy chair and relax with a Caribbean cocktail.
To help you really slip into summer, luxury hotel Sofitel Legend The Grand Amsterdam has reopened the doors to The Grand Beach after the great success of last year’s edition. This year, The Grand’s atmospheric courtyard has been transformed into a real sandy city beach, inspired by the beauty of the Caribbean.
Step barefoot into this tropical paradise and be surprised by the amazing Caribbean dishes on offer. Think about fresh sea bass, a tropical salad with king prawns or the farmers choice for meat lovers. And yes, oysters are being served too! To enhance this food experience even more, the chefs set up the Big Green Egg barbecues every day and cook right in front of you.
Equally important are the drinks that are being served at The Grand Beach. Next to a selection of elegant wines, you can order a bucket of the Caribbean beer Amstel Bright or choose for a refreshing tropical cocktail – how about an exotic Rum Punch, a Cuba Libre or a classic Mojito?
Get comfortable in your beach chair or private cabana, take a deep breath and relax. Enjoy the summery atmosphere amid tropical plants while sipping your cocktail and watching how the chef is preparing the choicest Caribbean dishes on the barbecue.
‘We are so excited to bring back The Grand Beach that after last year’s success,’ says The Grand’s general manager Emmy Stoel. ‘It truly is a fantastic place to relax and enjoy, and right in the heart of the Dutch capital.’
And what is a beach without a DJ or salsa band providing some sunny tunes? Lots of events are being planned so don’t forget to check out the Piper-Heidsieck Cinema Nights, Lobster Nights and Brugal BBQ Sundays. Stay tuned and keep an eye on the event agenda at The Grand Beach website.
The beach is spacious and well appointed, with comfy chairs and palm trees, and of course it meets social distancing regulations to ensure everyone’s safety.
The Grand Beach continues until the 13th of September.
Visit The Grand Beach website to reserve your spot. And don’t forget, the Grand Beach can also be hired for corporate events or private celebrations.
