First winter ground frost in the east, and plenty of sunshine during the day
The temperature dipped below freezing point in the east of the country on Monday night and gritting lorries were out on the roads for the first time this winter.
The first ground frost was recorded at the Eelde and Twente weather stations, where the temperature fell to -0.2 Celsius, weather bureau KNMI said.
Light frosts can again be expected in the east on Tuesday night while the rest of the country may have to cope with mist and fog.
Wednesday too will be a bright and sunny day but cloud will move in on Thursday and there could be some rain later in the week, the KNMI said.
