MH17 investigators appeal for witnesses with emotional videos

The Dutch team investigating the downing of flight MH17 in 2014 have released two emotional videos featuring relatives of the victims in the hope of finding more witnesses in eastern Ukraine.

The videos, in which two relatives speak of their sadness and their loss, are being distributed via social meda and via a Ukrainian think-tank, the pro European Donetsk Institute of Information. The videos have been translated into Russian and Ukrainian, Dutch media reported.

‘As the years go by, people can still have important information,’ a police spokesman told the Parool. For example, it could be that people who were afraid to talk in 2014 are now more willing to come forward, the spokesman said.

The Malaysia Airlines flight 17 (MH17) from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur was shot down on July 17th 2014, killing all 298 people aboard, two-thirds of them Dutch.
