One in four murders this year took place in Amsterdam
Around a quarter of the murders in the Netherlands this year took place in Amsterdam, the AD said on Thursday.
With one month to go before the end of 2016, police have recorded 99 murders so far. Of them, 23 took place in Amsterdam, according to website moordatlas.nl.
Last year there were just 15 murders in Amsterdam and Brabant province was top of the murder list.
In total, there were 115 murders in the Netherlands last year. The murder rate has been declining for years, the AD said.
