Westland tyre slasher jailed for six months
A 20-year-old man who went on a tyre slashing spree in Westland over several months, has been jailed for 16 months, 10 suspended, by judges in The Hague.
Quintin S is said to have slashed the tyres of almost 300 cars between September 2015 and May this year. The vandalism took place in his home district of Westland plus the nearby towns of Monster, Naaldwijk and Wateringen.
S is said to have caused damage running into tens of thousands of euros. He has also been banned from entering Westland for two years.
S, who has been in custody since his arrest did not attend the verdict and had declined to answer questions during his trial.
