Douwe Bob says he should Slow Down in Dutch Eurovision entry
The Dutch entry to this year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm is Slow Down by singer songwriter Douwe Bob.
‘We are moving too quickly,’ the singer said in a statement. ‘Slow Down is a protest number about myself, against the speed at which I live in Amsterdam.’
This year the event takes place in Stockholm. Douwe Bob will appear in the first semi-final on May 10. Last year, the Netherlands failed to qualify for the finals but the year before that, The Common Linnets came second with a country number.
Initial online reaction to Slow Down, which also has a country feel, was positive. ‘Great voice, feel good vibes,’ said on commentor on the Eurovision website.
In 2013, Douwe Bob won the reality television show The Best Singer-Songwriter in the Netherlands.
