Dutch farm produce exports rise to new record
Dutch farm exports reached a record €82.4bn last year, junior trade minister Martijn van Dam said during a agricultural trade fair in Berlin.
After remaining stable in 2014 following the start of the Russian boycott, sales rose by almost 1% in 2015, Van Dam said.
Some 75% of Dutch farm exports go to Europe – with Germany accounting for 25% of the total.
The Netherlands opened two new markets last year, Van Dam told the gathering. The country is now the only EU member to supply egg products to the American market following a new agreement.
In addition, Dutch apples and pears are now exported to Vietnam, he said.
