Security scare delays KLM flight; two ‘suspicious’ men removed from plane
London police removed two ‘suspicious’ men from a KLM flight to Amsterdam shortly before take off on Saturday night, broadcaster Nos says.
The broadcaster bases its claim on two Dutch eyewitnesses – a cameraman and a journalist for television talk show Brandpunt – who were on board the plane.
They reported that the two ‘dark skinned’ men were wearing thick coats and refused to make contact with the cabin crew. ‘Other passengers also said they were making odd gestures,’ Roel van Hees said via Twitter.
The plane was taxiing for take off when the crew decided to abort the flight and head back to the terminal. There, police with sniffer dogs boarded the plane and removed the men. The plane was then allowed to take off.
KLM will only say that the flight was delayed because of an incident, Nos says. According to the Telegraaf, KLM has confirmed the delay was not due to a technical failure and that the crew sounded the alarm.
