Three Dutch nationals have been arrested in Bulgaria on charges of membership of a terrorist organisation.
A European arrest warrant had been issued for two of them – young men aged 22 and 18. The third suspect is a 17-year-old girl.
The 18-year-old comes from Almere and a warrant was issued for his arrest last Friday, the public prosecution department has confirmed.
The girl, who is from Utrecht, was not on a list of potential jihadis. Police were alerted after she failed to return home after school last Friday evening.
According to news agency ANP, nothing is yet known about the 22-year-old.
All three will be extradited to the Netherlands within the next few days, ANP says.
Meanwhile, judges in The Hague have ended the trial of one of 10 people suspected of being members of a terrorist organisation.
Soufiane Z is thought to have died in a bombardment in Syria in January. Nevertheless, the public prosecution department included him in the mass trial of terror suspects currently under way in Amsterdam.
Two other defendants in that case have been released from jail.
