The Dutch like hearts, glasses of wine and parties
The most popular emoji used by Dutch people when they send text messages and Whatsapp to each other is the heart, like Sweden, Greece and Serbia, according to research by digital keyboard maker Swiftkey.
Smileys are the most common emoji in nearly every country in the world.
Dutch message senders are also three times more likely than the average to use the zzz symbol and 2.3% more likely to use a kiss.
But the Dutch also lead the world in using the glass of wine and are also keen on using the party popper symbol, the Swiftkey research shows. The Portuguese lead the world in using drugs emoji.
