Utrecht serial rapist jailed for six years
A 40-year-old man from Nieuwegein has been jailed for six years for two rapes and one sexual assault in Utrecht.
The attacks on students happened in 2013 and 2014 in the city centre and led to a great deal of unrest among the city’s student population.
The man, who was identified by his victims and dna evidence, told the court he could remember nothing of the attacks and was under the influence of drugs at the time.
The public prosecution department had called for an eight-year jail term.
