Dutch F-16 jet fighters have flown 375 missions in Iraq
Dutch F-16 jet fighters have flown 375 missions since they were stationed in Iraq four months ago as part of international efforts to combat Islamic militias, the defence ministry said on Wednesday.
The jets have used their weapons 200 times to bombard camps and other targets controlled by Islamic State fighters, the ministry said in a statement.
The Netherlands has contributed six F-16s and a support staff of 250 people to the international efforts to combat IS.
The Netherlands has also contributed a number of special forces to train Iraqi and Kurdish soldiers, bringing total Dutch manpower to 380.
The first soldiers are due back in the Netherlands shortly and will be replaced by other service men and women.
