gooische vrouwenGooische Vrouwen 2, a sort of Dutch Desperate Housewives, was the most popular film in the cinema last year and was seen by almost 1.2 million people.

Dutch rom-coms and children’s films did well at the box-office again with five rom-coms and seven children’s films in the top 20.

Lucia B, based on the true story of a nurse wrongly accused of murdering her patients and the Dutch entry for consideration for an Oscar nomination as best foreign film, is at number 15.

Number two on the list is The Hobbit 3 with 833,000 million visitors, followed by The Hunger Games 3 (674,000), The Wolf of Wall Street (671,000) and Rio 2 (580,000).
