Motorists warned about slippery driving conditions
The KNMI weather bureau issued a code yellow weather warning for southern and central parts of the Netherlands on Monday because of difficult driving conditions caused by overnight frost and sleet.
However, there are few traffic jams because of the Christmas holidays, the ANWB motoring organisation said.
Speeds have been reduced on a number of motorways because of the slippery roads. On parts of the A16 and on the A58 between Breda and Tilburg the speed limit has been cut to 50 kph.
In particular, snow and sleet is expected to fall in Noord-Brabant and Limburg provinces on Monday morning. The north of the country remains clear.
Tuesday and Wednesday are forecast to remain dry with frost at night in sheltered places, the KNMI said.
