A home nursing organisation in Almere has been ordered to close down for seven days after health ministry inspectors were tipped off about unqualified staff carrying out medical procedures.
The company TCC Zorg does not meet ‘any’ of the conditions for providing responsible care, health inspectors said in a report. Staff without qualifications were giving injections and enemas and other complex care, the report said.
In addition, students from the regional training college ROC were also being allowed to carry out nursing tasks, putting patients at risk.
The company’s director John Woudenberg also claims to be a qualified nurse but has no diplomas and is not on the official medical professional register, health inspectors found. He denies that patients were treated and says his company simply delivers medicines.
Woudenberg also came under fire in 2008 when staff at his previous healthcare company accused him of fraud and not paying their wages, news agency ANP says.
